The Peacekeeper

Director Mimi Leder does a fantastic job on keeping the action tight and nerve bending in this terrorist action thriller. For some reason George Clooney is more than believable in his role as a U.S. Army Colonel sent to track down a missing nuclear bomb. More often than not you find yourself saying "oh look...it's such and such Hollywood actor trying to play a soldier" but there is something in Clooney that makes you almost feel as if he were a combat technician in an earlier stage of his life. Just as remarkable is the fact Nicole Kidman is also believable as a nuclear expert and, as is the case with the both of them, they look stunningly beautiful while going about their job of saving the day. While a little heavy on the U.S. can do attitude THE PEACEKEEPER does what it's supposed to and that is keep you on the edge of your seat cheering for the good guys.

This one died in the theatres...but I saw it when it came out and have seen it a couple times since because I thought it was terrific. I also thought the two of them had fantastic chemistry. The action and characters were great. Of course knew her from China Beach...but became interested in her work since this movie a little more. I thought her DEEP IMPACT was very good with strong emotional delivery from the charaters.
