Oh man, it doesn't get any better than this baby. William Faulkner adapting the Raymond Chandler novel to perfection in what is one of the most faithful you will find. Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacal smoking up the screen......over sixty years old and it's still sexier and grittier than most offerings these days....and dialogue...baby...this film has been ripped off so many times you could never count 'em all. Yup, it just doesn't get any better than this.
